    Excerpt
An executive of a non-government organization working in Antique cited the important role of women in organizing farmers and fisherfolk. Marilou Llavan, program officer of Antique Human Development Program said women leaders excel much in the organization of farmers and fisherfolk. The group has been working on programs that aim to empower rural women for more than two decades now. She said there are lots of women leaders in organizations of famers and fisherfolk. We have seen the advancement of women decision makers in terms of livelihood activities or sources of income, said Llavan.
