Unlike many years ago when the Iloilo River - properly called Arm of the Sea - was a favorite spot for swimming it is now polluted. Also heavily-sited, the river is not deep enough to float a match. We hope that Senate President Franklin Drilon - as part of his legacy - will put another budget for its massive and effective dredging, aside from the ongoing improvements at the Iloilo Esplanade.
