local.seafdecaqd.extract | The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources on Wednesday lifted its red tide alert on the coastal waters of Milagros in Masbate but warned that shellfish collected in Bataan are still not safe for consumption. In its recent shellfish bulletin, the BFAR said that based on the laboratory results of the BFAR and Local Government Units, shellfish collected in Mariveles, Limay, Orion, Pilar, Balanga, Orani, Abucay and Samal remain positive for paralytic shellfish poison that is beyond the regulatory limit. BFAR Director Asis Perez said that all types of shellfish or “alamang” gathered from these areas are not safe for human consumption. | en |
