An alarmed Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) and provincial government have joined forces with the Regional Maritime Unit (RMU). They agreed to conduct joint operations against illegal fishing called the campaign "Oplan Octopus." The provincial capitol's Bantay Dagat caught two groups of hulbot-hulbot fishermen on Feb. 11. Oplan Octopus aims to sustain the campaign against illegal fishing, said IPPO director, Senior Superintendent Cornelio Salinas.
