Sweden joins call to end PH, China sea row

Sweden joined the growing international community for the peaceful settlement of maritime disputes on the West Philippine Sea which is being claimed by China and other neighbouring Asian countries, the Department of Foreign Affairs said. The DFA said that Sweden made the announcement during the 3rd Philippines-Sweden Bilateral Consultations in Stockholm last week. “On the West Philippine Sea/South China Sea issue, they agreed on the importance of peaceful settlement of maritime disputes in accordance with international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
