    Excerpt
The Chinese military is advocating active defense, which the country’s foreign ministry said is in cognizance of external environment and is no threat to stability in the region. “It has nothing to do with the current international and regional security landscape and China’s relations with other countries,” said foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying on Wednesday, referring to the white paper on China’s military strategy made public by the Chinese government on Tuesday. “We are still studying the latest Chinese white paper on military strategy. We hope the Chinese military will be a positive factor to contribute to the maintenance of peace and stability in the region,” Department of Foreign Affairs spokesman Charles Jose said in a press briefing.
