The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has warned villagers, farmers, and fisher folks against using dire in catching fish, particularly in sensitive peatlands within the largest area of Agusan Marsh in Landlocked Agusan del Sur province. These sensitive peatlands are located at Talacogon Lake and Lake Kalingayan. The warning was announced by the DENR after the discovery of large tracts of burnt area, about 15-20 hectares, within the Tacloban Lake peatlands.
