local.descriptionAlsons Power Group subsidiary Sarangani Energy Corp. (SEC), together with Alsons Aquaculture Corp.(AAC) and the Conrado and Ladislawa Alcantara Foundation Inc. (CLAFI) partnered with the local government of Maasim in Sarangani to help subsistence fishermen acquire motorized fishing boats from the Department of Agriculture ( DA)’ s Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR). The DA has launched a boat distribution program that will last until 2020 and has directed local government units to identify beneficiaries, with priority to be given to families with no fishing boats. The distribution of the 50 motorized, fiberglasshulled boats at the SEC jetty site was part of the milestone event that marked the ceremonial switch- on for the first 105-megawatt section of SEC’s 210-megawatt baseload plant in Maasim that started operating in April last year, and the start of civil works for the second 105-megawatt section of the plant.en
