Satellites over Benham eyed
Excerpt
A top security official on Wednesday recommended the procurement and use of satellites to better monitor marine activity in Benham Rise, an undersea region 250 kilometers east of the northern coastline of Dinapigue, Isabela. Esperon said the government should build up those capabilities to have a better view and management of Philippine resources. In 2012, the UN Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf ruled that under the Unclos, Benham Rise is part of the Philippines’extended continental shelf.
