    Excerpt
Forty-five farmers and fishers who are members of the Movement for Agrarian and Rural Advancement (MARA) in Barangay Trapiche were given P500,000 worth of livelihood project. The seed capital was taken from the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) through the Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (Pamana) program. Of the 45 members, eight were identified to be Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program beneficiaries and 37 were classified “poor,” based on the DSWD’s Listahanan database. All the participants, especially the beneficiaries, have existing livelihoods that had been operational for not less than 10 years, Haro said.
