    Excerpt
The Philippine government might seek provisional measures to stop China’s reclamation of the disputed islands in the West Philippine Sea should the arbitration tribunal decide that it has jurisdiction over the case, Justice Secretary Leila de Lima bared yesterday. De Lima said the government team handling the case is considering the suggestion of Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonio Carpio to seek provisional relief before the International Tribunal on the Law of the Sea (ITLOS). Carpio earlier made the suggestion, citing Article 290 (1) of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
