    Excerpt
Buying, selling, harvesting, and eating of shellfish from Gigantes Islands in Carles are still strictly prohibited, according to the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR). This, as red tide toxin is still present in the coastal waters of said islands. Based on the Shellfish Bulletin No. 03 issued on Jan. 17, 2017, shellfish collected at coastal waters of Gigantes Islands are still positive for paralytic poison levels beyond the regulatory limit.
