The Cebu Anti-Illegal Fishing Task Force (CAIFTF) seized some 300 kilos of illegally caught starfish in Carmen, Cebu on Monday, amid an intensified campaign against illegal fishing in the province. The dried starfish were placed inside sacks and loaded on a truck. Members of the task force initially flagged down the truck at Barangay Luyang in Carmen but the driver did not stop. "Hinabol ko pero hindi ko naabutan kaya tinawagan ko ang aking mga kasamahan na nasa main group," said CAIFTF enforcer Artemio Delfin. Delfin's colleagues managed to chase the truck and force the driver to stop. An initial inspection found dried starfish in the sacks. The truck reportedly came from Bogo in Cebu.en
