    Excerpt
Agriculture is expected to post another record growth in the second quarter of the year due to the introduction of new markets as well as the upward trend in the world prices of prime agricultural products. “The performance of Philippine agriculture and fisheries is expected to improve further in the second quarter of 2017 from an impressive first quarter growth of 5.28 percent said Emmanuel Piñol, secretary of the Department of Agriculture (DA). Piñol said the country’s aggressive marketing campaign and the access to non-traditional markets for agriculture and fisheries products like Russian and the Eastern European bloc are expected to contribute further to the growth of the sector.
