    Excerpt
Agriculture output grew 5.28 percent in the first quarter compared with a year ago, rebounding from a contraction in the previous quarter largely due to good weather, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said yesterday. Farm production in the same quarter in 2016 was down by 4.3 percent. Output of the fisheries sector was relatively flat and contributed 14.15 percent to total agriculture output. Production increases were noted for skipjack at 43.1 percent; yellowfin tuna, 17.32 percent, tilapia, 2.08 percent and; seaweed, 1.26 percent.
