The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources - Davao Region (BFAR-Davao) distributed on Tuesday P6.25 million to five municipalities there as there share this year in the Grassports Participatory Budgeting (GBP), formerly the Bottom-Up Budgeting (BUB) program. "This is only an initial grant since there are around 36 projects as part of the BUB program in the region, and hopefully all the cheeks will be fully distributed by September," said BFAR director Fatima M. Idris during the ceremonial turn-over. The bulk of the initial funds was given to Jose Abad Santos town, Davao del Sur: P2 million for infrastructure support and for 40 motorized fishing boats and fishnets, plus P1.85 million for the construction of a fishport.
