    Excerpt
Implementing the amended law on fisheries, Republic Act 10654, will be challenge, said Regional director Remia Aparri of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR). Fishing boat operators and traders staged a "fish holiday" last week against the amended Philippine Fisheries Code protesting, among others, that they were not consulted. The amended fisheries law aims to prevent, deter and eliminate illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing.
