    Excerpt
A group of environment advocates, residents of Isla Verde, and other concerned sectors want the people responsible for the oil spill in Oriental Mindoro to be punished and brought to justice. Protect VIP, a coalition group that vows to protect the marine biodiversity-rich Verde Island Passage, said that the oil leak has "poisoned the Verde Island Passage, a biodiversity hotspot that provides food and livelihood to over two million Filipinos."
