The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR-6), an attached agency of the Department of Agriculture, will distribute 3,000 fiber glass boats to coastal municipalities in 2017. BFAR-6 Regional Director Remia Aparri said more or less 50 coastal municipalities in Western Visayas will avail of the new boats. “We are still preparing the areas. But they will still be subject to validation of city and provincial officers for the replacement of old boats,” Aparri said.
