The National Task Force for the West Philippine Sea (NTF-WPS) on Friday condemned what it described as the China Coast Guard’s “dangerous actions” against a Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) vessel conducting a fuel subsidy mission for Filipino fishermen in the West Philippine Sea. In a statement, the NTF-WPS said the incident occurred about 54 nautical miles off the coast of Palawan, within the Philippines’ exclusive economic zone (EEZ), when China Coast Guard vessel CCG-21585 repeatedly carried out hazardous maneuvers before “deliberately making contact” with BRP Datu Magat Salamat (MMOV 3015) of the Bfar.
