    Excerpt
The US Embassy in the Philippines, through its Fish Right Project, launched the Community Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) Fishing Reporting Center in partnership with the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development, precisely to curb illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing practices in the country. Officials of both the US and the Philippines toured the newly opened facility in Puerto Princesa City intended to ensure maritime security against growing threat to livelihood. The embassy said the center is intended to serve as a local hub where coastal residents can report suspected illegal activity at sea and have those reports channeled quickly to authorities.
