    The Armed Forces (AFP) on Sunday announced the completion of the 17th maritime cooperative activity (MCA) at the West Philippine Sea with units from the US Indo-Pacific Command (USPacom) and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF). In a statement, AFP said the 17th MCA took place from July 21 to 25 in the West Philippine Sea (WPS). Participating Philippine assets included the Navy’s (PN) guided-missile frigate, BRP Antonio Luna (FFG-15), an AW-109 “Power” helicopter, Air Force (PAF) FA-50 “Fighting Eagle” jets, TC-90 “King Air” reconnaisance platform, an A-29B “Super Tucano” and a C-208B Cessna Caravan utility aircraft, along with a PZL W-3 Sokół search-and-rescue helicopter.
