Locals and the Environment department have come up with a management plan that serves as their pledge for the better conservation of the Balcon Marine Protected Area. The plan involving strategies for area development was a collection of inputs during a meeting-workshop in Sitio Singcalang, Barangay Balcon Melliza. Balcon Marine Protected Area was established in 2012 to protect and maintain Guimaras' natural biological and physical diversity.
