    Excerpt
At the El Presidente Beach Resort Complex here, tables were set with seaweed crackers, jars of oyster bagoong, and trays of shucked oysters as residents gathered for the Malaga, Guraman, and Tirem Festival. For families in this coastal town, the event on July 26, 2026, was more than a cultural celebration. It was also a showcase of how aquaculture and fisheries have become a main source of income, and how local products are slowly finding bigger markets. The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 2 joined the activities. Representing DTI Region 2, Director Ma. Sofia Narag and Cagayan Provincial Director Mary Ann Corpuz-Dy attended the festival.
