dc.descriptionThe National Police (PNP) on Monday reiterated its commitment to support government-led activities that promote national unity, patriotism, and awareness of the country’s sovereign rights in the West Philippine Sea (WPS). Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., National Police chief, in a statement made this the commitment following the police force’s participation in the 2026 National Peace Walk on Sunday, at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila. The peace walk commemorated the 10th anniversary of the landmark 2016 South China Sea Arbitral Award, which affirmed the Philippines’ maritime entitlements under international law.en
