The coastal uplift following the magnitude 7.8 offshore earthquake off Maasim, Sarangani Province, last June 8, caused previously submerged ocean floor in coastal barangays in the towns of Glan, Sarangani, and Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental. So far, various government agencies have identified coastal uplifts in five coastal barangays on the side of the Municipality of Glan, Sarangani Province, namely: Pangyan, Burias, Batulaki, Small Margus, and parts of Big Margus, and San Jose.
