The Philippines recorded an estimated 230,347 metric tons of tuna catch in 2025, with skipjack remaining the country’s most harvested species, according to figures finalized by fisheries experts ahead of submission to regional regulators. The official estimate was approved during the 18th Philippine Tuna Statistics (PTUNASTAT) Annual Catch Estimates Review Workshop in Puerto Princesa City, where government agencies and international fisheries specialists validated national tuna production data.
