₱1.6-B fish port upgrades target faster seafood trade

The government is investing P1.6 billion to expand fish port facilities in Navotas and Palawan, as it seeks to streamline the movement of seafood products, reduce logistics costs and improve earnings for fisherfolk. The Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) Board recently approved a package of infrastructure projects that includes the modernization of the Navotas Fish Port Complex (NFPC) and the construction of a new fish port in San Vicente, Palawan.
