Farmers, fishermen recipients of Dole’s ₱1.5 billion assistance
Excerpt
The Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) has disbursed P1.5 billion in assistance to help farmers and fishermen cope from the impact of rising fuel and farm input costs triggered by the Middle East crisis. The assistance package, rolled out under the government’s Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (Uplift), will provide temporary jobs and livelihood support to workers in the agriculture and fishery sector. The initiative is being implemented in partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) through the Dole Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP), the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (Tupad) program, and the Adjustment Measures Program (AMP).
