    Excerpt
Mayor Jonathan “Sonny” Besa of Panay, Capiz has ordered the municipal coastal watch team to intensify regular patrols across Panay’s extensive municipal waters following a reported increase in illegal fishing activities. In a local radio interview, Besa said the directive aims to curb destructive fishing practices that threaten both marine resources and the livelihoods of small-scale fishers in the municipality.
