The House Committee on Higher and Technical Education has approved a measure to upgrade Matarinao School of Fisheries into a polytechnic institute in Eastern Samar. House Bill 6785, authored by Eastern Samar Rep. Christopher Sheen Gonzales and co-authored by 4Ps Party-list Rep. Marcelino Libanan, seeks to establish the Eastern Samar Polytechnic Institute of Fisheries and Technology (Espift).
