A fisherman from Zambales was found alive after drifting at sea for five days as the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) carried out search and rescue operations off Bajo de Masinloc (Scarborough or Panatag Shoal), it was reported on Sunday, March 22. PCG spokesperson Commodore Noemi Cayabyab identified the fisherman as a 32-year-old resident of Barangay Wawanway, Subic, Zambales. He was reported missing on March 15 after his service boat “Bebelot,” operating under fishing boat “Gabriel Geruz 6,” failed to return.
