Regional fish unloading rises 2.7% in January; GenSan leads growth

Fish unloading volume in regional ports inched up by 2.7 percent in January, the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) said. The PFDA said the fish unloading volume last month rose to 40,459.91 metric tons (MT) from the 39,399.10 MT posted in the same period last year. The agency said the General Santos Fish Port Complex accounted for over half of the fish unloading volume in January at 24,907.81 MT, higher than the 15,161.366 MT recorded in the previous year.
