    At least 15 people were killed and 28 others remained missing after a passenger ferry bound for Jolo, Sulu sank in waters off Basilan early Monday, according to the Philippine Coast Guard. The incident involved MV Trisha Kerstin 3, a passenger-cargo vessel operated by Aleson Shipping, which went down at around 1:50 a.m. about 2.75 nautical miles northeast of Baluk-Baluk Island in Basilan province.
