    Excerpt
In a move to boost local aquaculture, the Provincial Government of Capiz is planning to integrate an innovative Crayfish Farming Program in the province. The initiative was announced by Governor Fredenil H. Castro on January 23 during his visit to Eliana’s Crayfish Farm in Barangay Balijuagan, Roxas City. Facilitated through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA), the Crayfish Farming Program aims to empower local fishermen by providing specialized training and resources. The program will initially involve the distribution of small batches of Australian red claw crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus) to qualified participants, who are expected to gradually increase production as they gain experience in sustainable farming practices.
