The famous bangus (scientific name Chanos chanos) has been a source of delicious menus such as sinigang na bangus, daing na bangus and paksiw na bangus on the dining tables of Filipino families. In the scientific field, researchers from the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) raised the possibility that it could turn the skin of the bangus, a common byproduct of the Philippine fishing industry, often discarded as waste, into an invaluable medical resource. The Ateneo scientists found that milkfish or bangus could give doctors an economical way to treat patients with massive burns and other major injuries.en
