Should the Philippine Navy (PN) be directed by higher authority, the naval service is more than capable of escorting Filipino fishermen looking to fish in the West Philippine Sea (WPS). This was stressed by PN spokesperson for the WPS Rear Admiral Roy Vincent Trinidad when asked if the Navy is capable of securing these fisherfolk should Chinese naval and coast guard ships make it a habit to harass the Filipino fishermen going about their lawful business. "It (is) the complete package that we could provide depending on our current capabilities," he said during an interview with reporters Wednesday.en
