    Excerpt
Known as Mindoro’s “crown jewel,” the Apo Reef Natural Park (ARNP) is home to some of the world’s diverse fish species, corals, and iconic marine wildlife. From its status as a protected area under the National Integrated Protected Areas System Act, its status has been elevated to one of the country’s 14 Asean Heritage Parks (AHP) for their high conservation value. AHPs are Southeast Asia’s most significant protected areas, renowned for their exceptional biodiversity, unique ecosystems, and outstanding natural values.
