The Samahan ng Labac Pawikan Patrollers (SLPP) reported the release of 217 pawikan (sea turtle) hatchlings to their natural habitat in Barangay Labac, Naic, Cavite, on Jan. 1, 2026. Col. Ariel Red of the Cavite Provincial Police Office was the guest of honor at the simple ceremony. Also present were acting Naic police chief LtCol. Jefferson Ison and SLPP leader Roger Bilugan. “This is a meaningful welcome to the New Year. Many thanks to everyone who attended the turtle release. A symbol of hope and love for nature,” Bilugan said.
