    Excerpt
Fishing communities and stakeholders in this province expressed full support on the ongoing River Restoration Program (RRP) along the shoreline and at the mouth of major river systems in this province. This is in response to the claim of some environmentalist groups that dredging operations in the municipalities of San Narciso and San Felipe have “destroyed marine habitats, reduced the fishermen’s income and exposed their communities to coastal erosion and sea-level rise.” Engineer Domingo Mariano, a government consultant on engineering and Infrastructure development in Zambales, said the RRP is a product of intensive and comprehensive study for the mitigation and control of massive flooding in the province.
