    The National Bureau of Investigation and the mayor of Pola, Oriental Mindoro filed charges against 35 public and private individuals, including some from the Philippine Coast Guard and the Maritime Industry Authority, in connection with the oil spill brought by the sinking of MT Princess Empress. Department of Justice Assistant Secretary and spokesperson Atty. Mico Clavano said the complainants before the doJ are the NBI Environmental Crime division and Mayor Jennifer Cruz.
