Fish unloading falls 13% in Q2
Excerpt
The country’s fish unloading volume fell by around 13 percent in the second quarter as weather-related shocks hit fish ports nationwide. According to the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA), regional fish ports (RFPs) delivered 161,087.39 metric tons (MT) to consumers in April to June. This was lower than the 186,557.96 MT recorded in the same period last year. “The decline can be attributed to adverse weather conditions, such as the extended northeast monsoon season,” PFDA told the BusinessMirror via email on Wednesday.
