    Excerpt
Fishing nets, technically termed “abandoned, lost, or discarded fishing gear” (ALDFG), are closely linked to ocean pollution, posing a significant threat to marine biodiversity, especially coral reefs, often likened to rainforests. Despite decades of grappling with this environmental issue and recognizing its silent menace to our present and future, collective actions have remained elusive.
