A coal-fired power plant has allotted P4.3 million for the adoption of a local pawikan hatchery here. This, as the GNPower Dinginin Ltd. Co. recently signed a three-year agreement with the provincial government here and the Sagip Pawikan Foundation to adopt the local pawikan hatchery at Sitio Fuerte in Barangay Poblacion. The signing ceremony was held at The Bunker in Balanga City as the event marked the beginning of the company’s flagship program of nurturing sea turtles in the province. The province of Bataan serves as the home to three out of five identified species in the country — olive ridley, hawksbill and green turtles.en
