President Marcos urged the public to take part in the “Bayanihan sa Estero Program,” an initiative led by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) aimed at cleaning waterways to reduce flooding in the capital. The program targets cleaning a total of 23 esteros or creeks across Metro Manila, Marcos said, after leading the launch of the program at Buli Creek in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig yesterday. “Before (tropical storm) Crising arrived, we had already cleared 12 esteros. So, somehow, we were able to reduce the impact (of flooding),” the President said.en
