    Excerpt
Fish raisers in Buguey town in Cagayan said they were forced to harvest thousands of kilos of Malaga (samaral or rabbitfish) on Saturday after their ponds turned murky as a result of massive flooding after intermittent rains spawned by the southwest monsoon and Severe Tropical Storm Crising. Mayor Licerio Antiporda III told reporters the fish were harvested to cut possible financial losses of fishers and raisers of Malaga fish, a popular delicacy in the province. A kilo of Malaga was sold at P200 to P250, a far cry from the P350 to P500 a kilo for matured ones.
