    Excerpt
The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-Region 3 has allotted P17 million as support for the salt industry in Central Luzon. According to BFAR3 Regional Director Wilfredo Cruz, there are 221 hectares of salt-producing areas in the region that can produce 5,000 metric tons of salt per year. “We plan to procure salt machinery capable of producing iodized salt. Additional equipment will be given to salt-makers to help them increase their production,” he said.
