    NegOcc wetlands 7th Ramsar Site

    The Negros Occidental Coastal Wetlands Conservation Area has been certified the seventh Ramsar Site in the Philippines - and the first in Negros Island Region and Western Visayas. The 110-kilometer Bago-Ilog coastline covers three cities and seven municipalities spanning 52 coastal barangays rich in bio-diverse resources. The Ramsar Certification will be awarded on Oct. 20 to Bago, Himamaylan and Kabankalan cities and Pulupandan, Valladolid, San Enrique, Pontevedra, Hinigaramm, Binalbagan, and Ilog towns.
