    Excerpt
An international nongovernment organization is urging President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to protect the nation’s marine resources and the millions of Filipinos who rely on the ocean’s bounty. Ocean Philippines, an ocean conservation advocacy NGO, issued the call as the world marked World Ocean Day on June 8, with the global theme, “Catalyzing Action for Our Ocean & Climate.” This year, the urgent focus on restoring fisheries abundance and protecting ocean health is deemed critical for the Philippines.
