Though it was reported recently that fish production in Visayan is depleting, the aquaculture industry of Negros Occidental kept up with demand, stabilizing prices of fish commodities are stable, said Joely Cabarles, Philippine Statistic Authority (PSA) chief for an agricultural statistic. Cabarles said currently the province has around 8,500 hectares of aquaculture areas for tilapia, bangus, shrimp, prawn and other minor aquaculture products.
